My name is Susan Christensen, wife, mother of six, and grandmother of five. I taught elementary school in Utah and New York. I love to play tennis, garden, and read. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have worked to build my life on a foundation of Jesus Christ and become more like Him.
About Me
Receive a month of CharacterAtDinner stories for free! All that is asked in return is an honest review. I would love to hear about your experiences!
I have found that raising our six children have mirrored the years of research that a connecting dinner with our families can be a protective shield from a host of negative influences—early drug, alcohol, and sexual activity, obesity, and poor grades in school.
Each week includes:
⁃ Seven daily stories about Character that you can read with your children
⁃ Conversation questions (to prompt interest and get your children talking)
⁃ A weekly summary of the Character theme for that week to promote more discussion
⁃ Brief insights from me about the research I have done on that week’s topic
Join our group of parents who are looking to improve the character of their children.

“Kids who eat regular family dinners in elementary school and in high school get better grades, and the effect is stronger than even doing homework, or doing art, or sports.”
Dr. Anne Fishel, Harvard Medical School
"We can read short powerful stories everyday at meals so our children can learn what character is and how to build it."

"One day, I came out and Ross was already in the garden. He looked up at me, with his eyes bright and said, “If you get down really close, and if you listen really hard, you can hear the plants singing.”
I looked at the rapture on his face and I could feel how deeply he loved everything we planted. Ross’s love for our first garden really made a difference for me, keeping me from not quitting the whole thing completely".
